Did you know that the AMEN House is almost entirely run by volunteers? We could not do what we do without the dedicated support of our volunteer base. Over the past year, we have had nearly 300 unique volunteers serve at the AMEN House. We average over 100 active volunteers each month who provide over 1,250 hours of service each month. These volunteers perform all of the operational aspects at the AMEN House including food rescue, pantry preparation, stocking shelves, composting food, greeting clients, registering clients, filling carts, loading food into client vehicles, recycling cardboard, unloading trailers, stocking coolers and freezers, cleaning the pantry, taking out the trash, delivering food, building pre-made food bags, making sack lunches, sorting and organizing donated clothing, helping clients shop for clothes, serving as board members and the list goes on. These volunteers do all of these things and more, faithfully and with joy in their hearts, because they passionately believe in what they do and that no one should go hungry in Scott County.
